Hurriyat leader Yasin Malik’s condition has ‘improved considerably’, local media reported on Wednesday.

The health of the incarcerated Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) leader had deteriorated last week and he had been shifted to the Intensive Care Unit at a private hospital in Srinagar in critical condition.

Sources had said Malik's right arm was rendered unusable after he had been administered the wrong injection.

Quoting sources, the Kashmir Media Service earlier reported he was advised by doctors to undergo a surgery and was being referred to a different hospital.

The family of Malik’s wife, Mishaal Malik, had confirmed the news.

Pakistan's Foreign Office had condemned the inhumane treatment being meted out to the Hurriyat leader.

"We deplore Indian forces’ torturous treatment of Hurriyat leader Yasin Malik, reportedly in critical condition in ICU," Foreign Office spokesperson Nafees Zakaria had said in a statement.
