PSX loses 1,000 points; regains 800

KARACHI: The benchmark KSE 100-index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange fell 1,000 points early Wednesday, and regained around 800 points later in the day.

The benchmark index, by the close of day, stood at 45,723 points. 

On Tuesday, after the market dipped around 1,700 points, economic analyst Mohammad Sohail explained to Geo News that the political uncertainty prevailing in the country with regards to the work of the Panama case Joint Investigation Team (JIT) probing the Sharif family’s assets has had a negative impact on the stock market.

He added that the market has gone down a cumulative 15% in the past month.

Earlier on June 12, the market dipped 1,800 points as news hit of the prime minister's summoning by the JIT.
