Four major generals promoted to lieutenant general: ISPR

RAWALPINDI: The Inter-Services Public Relations on Wednesday announced the promotions of four major generals to lieutenant generals.

Major General Majid Ehsan, Major General Aamir Abbasi, Major General Abdullah Dogar, and Major General Hamood uz Zaman have been promoted to the rank of lieutenant general, the military's media wing said.

Lieutenant General Abdullah Dogar has also been appointed as the Corps Commander Multan, while Maj-Gen Ehsan has taken charge as the president of the National Defence University (NDU)

Several key postings, transfers, and promotions in the Pakistan Army were announced earlier in April. 

Lieutenant General Omar Mahmood Hayat was posted as the chairman of the National Disaster Management Authority. He was formerly serving as the Chairman of Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF).

Lieutenant General Umar Farooq Durrani, who was previously serving as Commander 1 Corps, Magla, took command as the Chairman of Pakistan Ordnance Factories.

Lieutenant general Azhar Saleh Abbasi was promoted from the rank of Major General and posted as Commander 1 Corps Mangla. He was earlier serving as Vice Chief of General Staff at the GS Branch, General Head Quarters.
