PM Imran pays surprise visit to Rawalpindi hospital, shelter home

RAWALPINDI: Prime Minister Imran Khan late Monday paid a surprise visit to Holy Family Hospital and a shelter home established for the homeless in Rawalpindi.

The premier was accompanied by Federal Health Minister Aamir Kiyani, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Media Iftikhar Durrani and Senator Faisal Javed.

PM Imran toured various sections of the shelter home near Fawara Chowk and commended Federal Health Minister Aamir Kiyani and the administration over the facilities provided.

“Providing a warm bed and food to humans in this extreme cold is a great service. Arranging quality facilities for the homeless is a commendable act,” the premier said.

“Taking care of the helpless is the responsibility of the society. The nation’s resolve to help humanity is encouraging,” he added.

PM Imran also paid a surprise visit to the Holy Family Hospital and toured the children’s and family units. The premier was given a detailed briefing on the facilities provided by the hospital.

He also overlooked the quality and standard of the facilities provided at the hospital as well as the system of provision of medicines and the state of cleanliness. PM Imran also sought a report from the health minister on the hospital.
