'The Donkey King' set to dazzle audiences in Russia

Pakistan’s biggest animated film The Donkey King after dazzling audiences in Spain and South Korea is set to make its mark in another country.

The Donkey King will open in Russia on December 5.

Directed by Aziz Jindani and released under the banner of Geo Films, the political satire features the voices of Jan Rambo, Ismail Tara, Hina Dilpazeer, Ghulam Mohiuddin and Jawed Sheikh.

“This is a huge achievement for us as a nation that a Pakistani film has reached such high levels of popularity of reaching new audiences,” Jindani said.

“We are not just going to stop with the release in Russia. We are trying to unlock other international markets as well,” he added.

The director added this was a huge stepping stone for the Pakistani film industry as it was creating new benchmarks internationally.

Released in October 2018, The Donkey King has been produced by Geo Films and Talisman Studios. It has grossed Rs24.75 crores after running in the cinemas for 25 weeks.

Over the next few months, The Donkey King will be dubbed and released across seven countries.
