Jeffree Star remains safe from flak following Shane Dawson's scandal

With the entire internet currently breaking down Shane Dawson’s YouTube empire due to past racism and inappropriate gestures, towards an 11-year-old, it appears his buddy Jeffree Star has been on the back burner despite being no stranger to controversies and hate himself.

Ever since the first wave of hate poured in against Shane, he lost over 500,000 followers, yet somehow Jeffree continues to get away from bad press unscathed and even remains ‘un-cancelable’ following the hate for releasing his Cremated palate, all in the height of COVID-19.

Many speculate that the reason for this biased view of YouTube influencers is because of how the audience views them.

Esme Rice, the director of marketing at Tailify spoke to Insider and claimed that some are just better at handling criticism as compared to others.

She was quoted saying, "I believe some influencers are held to different standards. And often this is a reflection of how they are originally portrayed."
