74 loadhedding protestors held in Lahore

LAHORE: Power loadshedding in Lahore has been, without a letup, raising raucous as before with more and more people flooding the streets to let their frustration find an outlet through overnight protests, Geo News reported.

Agitated residents rampaged the roads with no holds barred and resorted to vandalism as well as hooliganism. There were reports of public property being damaged. Police also came under attack at more than one point. At least 74 people were arrested and 2,450 were charged for rioting, malicious mischief and clashing with the uniformed police across the city.

Only Baghban Pura police filed cases against 450 vandals and collared 53 for the offences same as mentioned above.

Chohang Police also did the same against 1,000 rioters making 21arrests.

The cases filed against the angry mob, along with others, include some anti-terrorist act sections as well.

Reports also have it that Islam Pura Police also filed cases against somewhat 1,000 troublemakers.
