  • Instagram is testing the "Selected People" feature as an alternative to "Close Friends".
  • This feature allows users to modify viewers' lists on each story.
  • It is being exclusively tested in Brazil.

Instagram has brought back the 'Close Friends' option for its Brazilian users after tests for 'Selected People' were "buggy", 9to5Mac reported.

Previously, they had upgraded to the 'Selected People' feature where users could modify their viewers’ lists according to the story posted.

They are now drawing back to the 'Close Friends' option, however, exact reasons were not specified but the tests for the new feature were full of bugs.

According to the report, users were unable to change viewers. Therefore, this feature may not be introduced to the rest of the world any time soon.

Instagram has announced new tests for the stories’ functions. The feature will exclusively be tested in Brazil. It has not been announced when it will be launched worldwide.

This new feature is merely a modification of 'Close Friends'. Sometimes, people do not want to share all types of content with the same list of people. Therefore, for different stories, people will be able to uncheck some people from their 'close friends'.
