  • An NFT seller accidentally sold his million-dollar worth EtherRock NFT for less than a penny.
  • Later, the same NFT got listed again for about $629,502.8.
  • He took to Twitter sharing his blunder and asking for mercy.

A man sold his EtherRock NFT worth $1 million for less than a penny, The India Times reported.

Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) allow users to buy and sell ownership of digital items, keeping a track of who owns them using the blockchain, The Verge explains.

He listed the valuable NFT for 444 Wei which is the minimum denomination of Ether instead of 444 ETH which is equal to one quintillionth of an Ether.

After being sold for a negligible amount, the NFT got listed again for 234 ETH which is currently equal to $629,502.8 according to Coin Chefs.

The seller, after this unfortunate event, reached out to people on Twitter sharing his blunder.

He tweeted, "How's your week? Mine? I just erroneously listed @etherrock #44 for 444 wei instead of 444 eth. Bot sniped it in the same block and tried to flip for 234 eth In one click my entire net worth of ~$1 million dollars, was gone. Is there any hope? Am I GMI? Can snipers show mercy?"

While some people sympathised with the seller, others made fun of him.
