United States' New York has recently witnessed a series of unusual events that have put New Yorkers on high alert.

The people of the city where dreams come true have been recently shook by a 4.8 magnitude earthquake right before experiencing heavy downpours.

Now, they are about to witness a total solar eclipse. So what do New Yorkers have to say about the streak of unusual events?

Well, some have been asking questions about the spiritual connection between the sun, the moon and the Earth during such occurrences.

According to the Daily News, a Brooklyn-resident, Darryl Harrison said: "I feel like 2024 is a monumental year. There has been so much happening lately."

"I think our geography really molds who we are," Harrison added.

Additionally, Sabbir Ahmed from Queens, who works at a souvenir shop, shared his excitement to be alive for the historic event.

"I'm excited for it. It’s amazing. I’m excited it’s happening in my life," Ahmed said. "I’m going to take a selfie."

However, some people like conspiracy-pushing Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene have offered a dubious take on the recent craziness that overtook New York in the past week.

"God is sending America strong signs to tell us to repent," the Georgia Republican posted on X, formerly known as Twitter. "Earthquakes and eclipses and many more things to come. I pray that our country listens."
