Al Nassr star Cristiano Ronaldo was teased by fans with "Messi" chants as he was sent off the field after a heated interaction with his opponents from rival team Al Hilal and the match referee on Monday night.

Al Nassr went head-to-head against Saudi Pro League leaders Al Hilal and Ronaldo was not elated as he seemingly got physical with his opponents and resisted throwing the ball at the referee, The Sun reported.

Frustration took over the former Manchester United star, 39, as his team was behind 2-0 before things got heated up.

Al Hilal defender Al Bulayhi, 34, attempted to prevent Ronaldo from grabbing the ball for a quick throw-in after he slipped it out of play.

However, he appeared to square up the Portuguese footballer after he nudged him out of the way.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner allegedly rammed his elbow into Al Bulayhi’s chest taking him down in a heap.

The former Real Madrid star gestured to attempting to throw the ball at the referee before sarcastically flashing thumbs up to him after the official gave him a red card.

As he left the pitch, Ronaldo was taunted by "Messi" chants from the crowd.

This is not the first time that Al-Bulayhi has upset Ronaldo.

Ronaldo accused Al Bulayhi of play-acting in a Saudi Pro League match last season, leading to Al Bulayhi being sent off after receiving two yellow cards.

After Ronaldo was sent off the field, Sadio Mane scored a goal for Al Nassr but the team lost 2-1, sending Al Hilal to the Saudi Super Cup where they will face Al Ittihad.
