Emily Blunt recalls John Krasinski hilariously dealing with 'bird' sized spider

Emily Blunt poked fun at husband as she remembers hilarious story of him handling a bird-sized spider in Australia.

During the latest appearance at Jimmy Kimmel Live, the mother-of-two shared a hilarious encounter that the couple had during their stay in Australia.

“I know everyone comes out [of Australia] and they talk about an Australian animal story, but I do have one”, she began, “Australia was welcoming, loved it. The spiders were also very welcoming”.

However, the actress then continued describing a quiet night where she saw a spider inside the house and said to John, “You're up. Nope. I'm not”, although admitting he is good at handling most insects except spider, “You’re still up."

Explaining the size of the insect she added, “You know how people go ‘It was the size of your hand!’? It was like a bird, it was full wingspan” before watching her husband trap the creature in a tupperware while “trying to act kinda cool about it”.

“I got the paper and I slid the paper under. Well, I handed it, and kinda backed up”, she continued.

Nonetheless, things were ‘fine’ before The Office alum walked outside and couldn’t see the spider because it was ‘pitch black’.

Describing the sensation of the spider moving in the tupperware, the Oppenheimer actress recalled, “Then he released it and shook it out — but didn't know if it was out because it was dark! And that was the inside inner scream”.

Despite the ‘heroism’, Jimmy suggested that the 44-year-old should have thrown the entire container outside to which Emily exclaimed, “I know! Why did he keep the Tupperware? I don’t want it! I’m not going to put the leftover pesto in it. Just chuck it!”

“He’s Jack Ryan and neither one of us are”, the host quipped.
