AMP’D hosts inaugural networking event
DALLAS: Richardson Texas councilman and Mayoral candidate Amir Omar has said that people with professional degree holders find Texas as a heaven in terms of opportunities, as this is a unique place where with growth of its cities, common individuals find great employment opportunities for themselves.

Mr. Omar was addressing the inaugural ceremony of a newly formed organization, "American Muslim Professionals of Dallas" [AMP'D] as a keynote speaker.

Mr. Omar said, despite recessions and bad economy in US and the world, Texas has been offering growing level of economic opportunities, which has attracted big business owners and investors to Texas resulting in higher investment levels and better business environment as four of the world billionaires live in Dallas Metroplex.

He said the high pace of growth in Texas is reflected in high growth in its cities. Richardson is one of the cities where high level of development took place in last few years.

He said that people are migrating into Texas in droves as Texas offers better economic opportunities for them.

The group’s President Aisha U-Kiu, while addressing the audience said that the purpose of forming AMP’D is to provide networking among young professionals as this will assist them in better job opportunities.

Other speakers who spoke on this occasion were Owais Siddiqui, Saba Alvi, Ibrahim, Arif Admani, Sabeeh Khan. They said AMP'D is an emerging non-profit organization in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex whose mission is to provide a platform for professionals in the area to network, advance professionally, and serve their communities.

AMP’D emphasize diversity of age, gender, and profession in all levels of leadership and membership. AMP’D’s model brings together Career Development, Professional Connections & Community Service by way of its events and programming.

After the event every one met with participants of the event and exchanged views. A large number of newly graduated youth from professional colleges participated in the event. The event was also attended by Desi media representative Raja Zahid Akhtar Khanzada, General Secretary of Pakistan American Association of Texas (PAAT) Dr. Javaid Ajmal, and an attorney Iftikhar Ahmad.
