MQM postpones women’s meeting in Karachi

KARACHI: The MQM has postponed a women’s meeting scheduled to take place at the Jinnah Ground in Azizabad on Sunday.

According to a party press release, the coordination committee postponed the meeting due to indispensable reasons. A date for when the meeting will be rescheduled will be announced later.

The MQM along with the ANP and PPP have been attacked over the course of the past week in Karachi. On Saturday night, at least six people were killed when separate blasts targeted the MQM and PPP.

On April 26, nine people were killed and 40 others injured in a blast at the election office of an ANP candidate in the Mominabad area of the city.

Earlier in the week on April 25 a blast near the MQM election office in Nusrat Bhutto colony left six people dead.
