Mission: Impossible 8 director Christopher McQuarrie has good reason to believe that the new movie starring Tom Cruise will be beyond thrilling for the audiences.

McQuarrie, who joined the franchise in 2015 to direct Rogue Nation, recently revealed that an early screening of Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning left one audience member on the verge of a heart attack.

"We had a small screening and someone said, 'I was suffocating throughout the entire sequence. I almost had a heart attack,' " McQuarrie told Empire magazine, per GamesRadar. "And I thought, 'I guess we did something right.' "

He also noted that the upcoming movie, which is reportedly the last in the franchise, features "the most difficult thing" they’ve ever done in the series.

Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning will bow in theaters May 23.

Tom Cruise has more high octane films lined up after the reported last entry in the Mission: Impossible franchise. He’ll next feature in Top Gun 3, followed by projects with filmmaker Alejandro G. Iñárritu.
