Netflix is no stranger to removing titles from its vast library. This is because the content's license has expired.
At the latest, the streamer has announced that it will scrub several movies and series in June.
According to The Mirror, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and The Dark Knight Rises are set to be cancelled.
While the children's series Alvinnn!!! And The Chipmunks and Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom will also be removed.
Date-wise, on June 1, films such as 100 Days with Tata, Batman Begins, Burlesque, Closer and Magic Mike XXL will be axed.
The series Cult of Chucky, Den Thieves, Ted and Ted 2, and Two Weeks Notice will be out of the streamer.
On June 11, 14, and 17, Gran Turismo: Based on a True Story, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire and Carol, respectively.
The two seasons of Father Figures, American Sniper, and Brain on Fire Signs will be cancelled from June 19 to June 26.
Netflix has routinely removed expired content, but the streamer has a history of abruptly cancelling its originals—Shadow and Bone, for example.
In November 2023, the streamer axed the show after a season, which was in the platform's most-watched list.
Reacting to this, author Leigh Bardugo said at the time, "Friends, by now you've probably heard that there will be no season three for Shadow and Bone and no Six of Crows spinoff. The news hit me hard. I'm heartbroken and deeply disappointed, but I'm also trying to hold onto my very real gratitude."
"We're book people and that means we never stop imagining that magic can be made real. You are proof of that. Now, I'm going to go have a cry, and maybe a drink, and then see where the story takes us next," Legih concluded.
