Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly planning to part ways professionally after seven years of marriage.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are said to be taking a new step in their professional lives by setting up separate teams and working independently.

According to reports, King Charles and late Princess Diana’s son has spent the past nine months planning the move, and both he and Meghan will now have their own chiefs of staff.

A source told Daily Mail that Harry’s team will be led by Meredith Kendall Maines, a communications expert, and will be based in California and the UK.

"Harry is turning away from all sorts of Hollywood publicists and is seeking counsel from his old friends and associates,” they said.

The insider added, "He is clearly reaching out thinking, 'I need to do something different because what I'm doing is clearly not working.’"

The report further revealed that Harry's decision to set up his new California-based team comes after nine months of reaching out to former advisers and holding virtual meetings with past Palace PR professionals.

They claimed that the Duke is also preparing to launch a new, undisclosed business venture in the near future.

"Harry is unkindly described as the 'spare' to Meghan's endeavours,” they said. "In reality, he has been giving her the space to flourish.”

“Now it is his time to throw himself into exciting new work. Invictus will always come first, but he has also been working on commercial ideas of his own."

This comes after months of speculations surrounding the professional lives of Harry and Meghan when they did not appear together at events for months last year.
