Hoda Kotb breaks silence on her 'Today' replacement

Hoda Kotb recently got candid and opened up about who she wants to see as her Today show replacement.

The 60-year-old American broadcaster and journalist appeared on the Thursday, June 5 edition of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, where she revealed who she sees as the top candidates to be her replacement on Today alongside Jenna Bush Hager.

For the unversed, Kotb left the NBC morning show in January this year after 17 years and Craig Melvin took over her place as Savannah Guthrie’s news co-host.

Also, Hages started the new version of the show’s fourth hour called Today with Jenna and Friends, and she has been joined by co-hosts like Scarlett Johansson, Keke Palmer, Dwyane Wade, Taraji P. Henson, Amy Poehler, and others.

However, Cohen stated that it might not be possible for the Marvel star Johansson to take the full-time job, to which Kotb replied she really liked what the actors did as a temporary replacement.

She said, “Anybody would be so lucky. But to me, the contenders are Savannah, I think she would be great. I think Justin Sylvester is amazing.”

The Hope is a Rainbow author added, “Scarlett Johansson crushed it. She said it was her favorite job.”

“And Matt Rogers is great. And also our dear friend Sheinelle Jones who is going through a horrible time but I think she would be good. I feel like it’s whoever clicks great with Jenna,” Kotb noted.
