Prince Harry's IGF shares exciting news after his statement

Prince Harry’s Invictus Games Foundation has shared an exciting news as the organisation released its shortlist for the ninth event in 2029.

Taking to its social media handles, the charity, founded by Prince Harry, says: “The Invictus Games Foundation is delighted to reveal that we have received 6 Expressions of Interest to host the Invictus Games 2029.

It said these are “Aalborg – Denmark, Abuja – Nigeria, Daejeon – Republic of Korea, Kyiv – Ukraine, San Diego – USA and Veneto Region – Italy.”

It further said, “One of these cities will welcome the Invictus Community in 4 years.”

CEO of the Invictus Games Foundation Rob Owen has said, “We are thrilled to have such interest, demonstrating a clear recognition of the powerful impact of hosting an Invictus Games, not only on the competitors themselves, but on those supporting, watching, and cheering on from the stands.

“These expressions of interests are also testament to the growing global impact of being part of the Invictus Movement, and we look forward to working with each of these locations over the coming year to develop fuller propositions with the recovery of international wounded, injured and sick service personnel and veterans at their heart.”

It is to be mentioned here that the next Invictus Games will be taking place in Birmingham, UK from July 10th to 17th, 2027.

Earlier, Prince Harry shared a video message to mark Germany's first Veterans Day on Sunday.

The duke began and closed his speech in German, greeting viewers with "Guten Tag Deutschland!", before saying it was a "profound privilege" to deliver the message on the "sacred day."
