Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez are keeping their wedding details a secret from their guests until the last minute.

A source told People Magazine that guests are only being acquainted with what time to be ready for the festivities but not being given any information on the destination for the nuptials until shortly before the event.

The secrecy comes in the light of increasing protests and posters across Venice by locals and environmentalists.

"No Space for Bezos," read one poster, while another giant poster at St. Mark’s Square deployed by Greenpeace, a global environmental organisation, read, “If you can rent Venice for your wedding you can pay more tax.”

The billionaire has also changed the location of the wedding party—initially planned to be held on June 28th at Scuola Grande della Misericordia, a medieval former religious school in Cannaregio—to a new location due to protests and safety concerns, a source revealed to People Magazine.

The expected 200+ guests ceremony will instead be celebrated in a hall at the Arsenale, a large 14th-century complex in the eastern Castello district, which is surrounded by water and unreachable by land when connecting bridges are raised.

The soon-to-be-married couple reportedly touched down in the city on Wednesday while several celebrity guests began arriving in Venice on Tuesday, including Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner.
