Zara Tindall may take a bigger role after Prince William’s accession to the throne by overseeing royal horse racing duties, according to a royal expert.
Speaking with The Mirror, royal expert Jennie Bond discussed how William would manage the monarchy after becoming King.
She noted that with his biggest support, Prince Harry, gone, the Prince of Wales would rely on his cousins, Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie and Zara Tindall.
Bond said it would be a smart move giving Zara the royal horse racing duties, noting her passion for horses like her mother Princess Anne.
"There will be so many demands on his time when he is King that I think it’s a brilliant idea – if the reports are to be believed – that he might hand over racing matters to Zara Tindall,” she said.
“Like her mother, she lives and breathes horses; she’s also extremely glamorous and well-liked and it would be a perfect fit.”
Since William and his wife, Kate Middleton, are not particularly interested in horse racing, Bond said this arrangement would work well.
"I don’t think William or Catherine are particularly interested in the racing world, so it would work out well, although I’m sure they would still trot along to Ascot from time to time.
“They’d always be sure of a bit of fun and a giggle with Zara and Mike."
