King Charles set for sporting reunion with Pakistan cricket stars

King Charles prepares to welcome Pakistan’s men’s Test team to Clarence House.

The King, who serves as Head of the Commonwealth, will receive the players in the gardens of Clarence House during a break between the second and third Test matches being played in England this summer.

It will be a familiar sporting encounter for Charles, who has crossed paths with Pakistan’s cricket team before. 

In 2007, when he was still Prince of Wales, he met the squad ahead of the Pakistan v India Future Friendship Cup at Citylets Titwood cricket ground in Glasgow.

Their Autumn Tour will take place from October 27 to November 4, with a Royal Visit to Antigua and Barbuda before the King and Queen attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting.

The couple will then travel to The Bahamas, where Charles serves as Head of State, before the King heads to Guyana for a state visit at the invitation of the country’s President and at the request of the UK Government.
