Kate Middleton has just been hailed by an expert for the way she completely broke tradition, all in favor of ‘frankness’.
BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond is the expert in question that showered the princess with this appreciation.
In her eyes, chatter about the “rollercoaster” she’s suffered over the last year, due to cancer is ‘refreshing’.
So much so that it led the commentator to hail her with Marie Claire and say, “the Princess has decided to speak frankly and emotionally about all that she has been, and is still, going through. This is a break with royal convention, but her words have a reach and an impact that virtually no other cancer survivor could match.”
She even honed in on how her fan base would feel after such a candid admission and added, “I think it’s incredibly refreshing for us to be told exactly what is going on and how Catherine is feeling.”
Reason being “now we can all understand that there have been, and will be, times when the Princess just doesn’t feel able to appear in public. She is, in her own words, still riding a rollercoaster and trying to come to terms with her 'new normal'.”
Before concluding Ms Bond also offered a rare thought of her own, and pointed out the severity of the ‘whiplash’ Kate likely had.
After all “other cancer patients have spoken of this difficult transition from being under intense medical supervision to being told the treatment is over and everyone expects you to return to normal life. As the princess makes clear, 'normal' is not the same for her as it once was.”
