Prince Harry's legal case takes sharp turn after bombshell: ‘big finish'

Prince Harry had a good thing going but the Duke of Sussex was hit with a massive last-minute blow that could possibly turn the whole lawsuit around.

King Charles’s younger son is suing the Daily Mail publisher for alleged phone hacking and other unlawful means to gather information for their articles. Harry is joined by six other claimants including Sir Elton Jon, David Furnish, Elizabeth Hurley, Sadie Frost Baroness Doreen Lawrence and Sir Simon Hughes.

However, in latest turn of events, as Harry’s flirty message exchange with journalist Charlotte Griffiths were exposed in court which could affect the verdict of the case, reporter Peter Ford said on 3AW Breakfast with Ross and Russel.

The reporter explained that there were a lot of newspapers at the time that acquired information through private investigators and illicit means, but Daily Mail had always denied using such methods.

“Whatever people do, we’ve never done it.” He continued, “The fine print to that is we don’t know what sometimes private investigators will do, that we hire, or freelance journalists will use information we buy. However, for our own staff we can vet and identify.”

Prince Harry took on the Daily Mail publisher and so far had been successful taking them on but the publisher said that they “weren’t going to blink”.

Peter pointed out that the “last-minute twist” may not kill the case but will certainly damage his reputation. It would raise questions about his relationship if it went any further than text exchange.

Moreover, he also said that this also majorly contradict with what Harry has been claiming about his family “colluding with the press”, and the text exchange suggest that the Duke was doing the same thing.

Charlotte Griffiths response to Prince Harry ties

While the texts have been shared in public now, the discussion was already covered in court by both Charotte and Prince Harry.

Charlotte said in a witness statement that she and Harry “knew each other socially for a time” and her friends who introduced her to the royal were aware that she was a journalist working under royal correspondent Katie Nicholl.

She claimed that Harry sent her his number via Facebook for a party he was hosting with their mutual friend.

Meanwhile, Harry stressed that he is “not friends with any of these journalists” in another instance shared that he “only met once” with Charlotte.
