Ryan Reynolds was joined by Blake Lively as he received a top honour in Canada.

During the special Canada Day ceremony on Tuesday, July 1, the 48-year-old Canadian-American actor and film producer was designated as an Officer to the Order of Canada in his country of birth’s capital, Ottawa.

Lively, who was beaming with pride, recorded the iconic moment of her husband when he was receiving the medal.

A source close to Reynolds told PEOPLE magazine, "It was a great day, and he's immensely proud of the honour. His family was there to support him, and he’s always considered Canada a third parent!"

Previously, on December 19, 2024, the Deadpool & Wolverine star was named one of 88 new members of the Order of Canada and gave an interview to the same outlet just after the achievement.

At that time, he admitted he “couldn’t be more emotional and proud. I’m so grateful to be a part of the ever-evolving Canadian story."

The Red Notice actor, a Vancouver native, went on to express his gratitude to people and places in Canada who “supported and shaped” him as a person.

“As well as all the people across Canada who do the work of helping people each and every day without recognition or pats on the back. I’m asking the Governor General if I can break my officer’s medal into thousands of little pieces to share,” Reynolds quipped.
