King Charles has reportedly assigned his sister-in-law Duchess Sophie another key role in the royal family, a royal expert has claimed.
Duchess Sophie’s important role has been disclosed by royal expert Matt Wilkinson on X, formerly Twitter handle.
Wilkinson tweeted, “The Duchess of Edinburgh will travel to Bosnia and Herzegovina next week to mark 30th anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide.”
“She will read a message from the King at the official commemoration ceremony and meet relatives of some of the more than 8,000 killed in 1995 massacre,” the expert added.
Earlier, in his report for the Sun, Matt Wilkinson also claimed Sophie, 60 will now play a distinguished public role in the Royal Family.
Citing the royal insiders, the expert reported Duchess is also keen to relieve the work pressure on King Charles, Queen Camilla, Prince William and Kate Middleton.
Last month, Sophie was seen giggling and sipping cider with William at the Royal Cornwall Show, then crowds watched as she and the Princess of Wales laughed together at the Garter Day procession in Windsor.
Duchess Sophie has long been thought of as the royal family’s ‘secret weapon’ and being a savvy peacemaker.
