Celtic winger James Forrest has inked a new contract that would keep him at the club until 2027.
The 34-year-old, who is widely regarded as Celtic’s most successful player, enters into a contract of a one-year extension with the current Scottish Premiership champions.
The Celtic winger has bagged 26 major honors with the Hoops, including 13 league titles, seven Scottish Cups, and six League Cups.
In an interview published on the hoops’ portal, Forrest said, “I’m absolutely delighted. I’ve been here my full career and I’ve loved every minute of it.”
Reflecting on his time with the club, he added, “We’ve been so successful in my time here and I’m delighted to signed another year, and I’ll just give my best to the club for however long I’ll be here.”
Determined to add to his legacy, the Hoops winger said, “While I’m still playing I can hopefully keep contributing and helping the team when I can and I’m just going to give it everything until I finish.”
With one eye on retirement, Forrest concluded, “When I do stop, I will look back on so many great memories, but hopefully I can make a few more before I do finish.”
Forrest has scored 110 goals in 564 games for the club, scoring in every one of the 17 seasons he has appeared for Celtic.
