Millie Bobby Brown formed a close bond with her Stranger Things co-stars as all of them grew up together working on the show, which led to her being fearful of losing them when the show ended.

The 22-year-old British actress admitted that she felt depressed during the initial days after the series came to its end, and despite the rumours of an alleged rift among the cast members, tried to mend her friendships.

“It was very hard for me. I would not have expected that coming off of the show. I’m a very happy-go-lucky person,” the Enola Holmes star told Josh Horowitz during the live recording of his podcast, Happy Sad Confused.

Brown shared that she had honest chats with her co-stars – including David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Noah Schnapp, Caleb McLaughlin and Winona Ryder, asking them, “‘We’re still friends, right? Like, you’re not gonna stop talking to me anymore?’”

She continued, “I was like, ‘I’m sorry if I ever upset you,’ and was just trying to mend anything. ‘It’s been 10 years, and I really want to be friends. You’re my sibling.’ And then I was on the beach, it was beautiful, and I just sat there crying,” she continued. “It was a very hard time for me.”

The Damsel actress noted that growing up playing the character Eleven is an integral part of her personality and thus it was extremely hard to walk away from the set for the last time.

“I started the show when I was 10, and this character was me, and these people were in my life more than my own family. I saw these people more than going home and eating dinner with my family. Saying goodbye to that after 10 years was a very, very emotional thing, and I’m going to miss Eleven more than anything,” Brown said.
