It appeared that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were finally beginning to get somewhere with the royal family after years of rift, when all of that seem to have gone awry.

The Sussex visit to the UK, including Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, had been making headlines for the past few weeks. It was only confirmed on Friday that the whole clan was coming over with an offer to stay at the royal residence by King Charles, but the very next day, it was all thrown into doubt.

It all happened as Harry’s request for police protection was reportedly declined by RAVEC, six months after it was taken in for review by the UK Home Office.

According to royal reporter Rebecca English, the PR disaster that Harry and Meghan have created for the Palace has not deterred the King’s stance on meeting his grandchildren.

She shared that Buckingham Palace’s patience is being “pushed to the limit” by the “psychodrama” that surrounds the situation. Rebecca stressed that the couple is responsible for causing the disaster for themselves.

“For the sake of family harmony, the Palace would have been perfectly happy with a peaceful and low-key visit. Yet, once again, they have turned it into a soap opera. It’s tiresome,” a well-placed insider revealed.

Moreover, the offer to stay at the royal residence is still on the table but there is no response from the Sussex team despite the very little time left before their arrival. Meanwhile, King Charles has not forgotten the past grievances but he is “pragmatic”.

The King “is not going to reject an overture to meet his grandchildren discreetly for the sake of family harmony.”

Harry and Meghan, along with their children, are currently in Europe for a holiday trip, according the Sussex Office and there is seemingly “no change” in the initial UK plan.
