Prince William and Meghan Markle's eldest son followed in the footsteps of his father and uncle Harry with admission to Eton.

The 13-year-old began his first day at Eton College today, September 8.

Commenting on the situation, gossip columnist Rob Shutter said, "The symbolism is extraordinary. George, Archie and Lilibet are starting school on the same day, in the same country, but because of their parents, they could still be worlds apart."

The move of returning to the UK by the Sussexes was seen as a great chance of creating a bond between royal cousins. But the rift reignited.

"George has been preparing for Eton his entire life. Archie and Lilibet are entering a completely new world. New country, new schools, new classmates. For children, that is enormous," the source said.
