King Charles receives honour as he begins new chapter with royal family

King Charles entered into a new chapter of his life with a prestigious honour. 

Today, September 8, was the day when Charles ascended the throne upon the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II.

Prince William's father received a special tribute from the British Army.

Several photos from the Royal Gun Salutes ceremony have been released on the official Instagram account of the British Army.

The statement reads, "Today, @BritishArmy personnel from across the UK fired Royal Gun Salutes to mark the fourth anniversary of His Majesty The King’s accession to the throne, continuing a proud military tradition."

It is pertinent to note that Prince William and Princess Kate's eldest son, Prince George, also began his new journey at Eton College today. 

The Prince and Princess of Wales have also released official photos of George from his first day at Eton.
