Palace issues Queen's health update just hours before crucial ceremony

The Royal Family in Norway is moving ahead appears to be moving ahead in stately matters with a heavy heart just days after the death of the King Harald V.

As the new monarch, King Haakon would be at his swearing-in ceremony on Tuesday to be held at office in the Storting. However, just hours before the oath was to be taken, the Royal House revealed that Queen Mette-Marit will not be attending the ceremony.

The news comes just one day after royal fans were left infuriated to see Mette-Marit’s 29-year-old son Marius Borg Høiby – convicted on four counts of rape – took part in a procession for the late King.

Moreover, users online also expressed their displeasure over Mette-Marit’s new royal titles as she “isn’t Queen material” due to her past connection with Jeffery Epstein.

“When will Norway have a revolt? Taxpayers are paying and indulging the Epstein queen with her rapist son,” one user slammed.

Another echoed, “She should've been stripped of her crown princess status a long time ago.” One more added, “Disgusting. I cannot believe that the Norwegian people let her be queen.”

However, the backlash wasn’t the key reason the new Queen was forced to cancel her attendance. In the press release, it said that the absence was due to “complications” following her recent lung transplant.

“It is not uncommon for complications to occur after a lung transplant,” Pulmonologist Are Holm at the National Hospital said. “The Queen has had complications on some occasions since the operation, including today.”

King Haakon will be joined by Crown Princess Ingrid Alexandra. Queen Sonja and Prince Sverre Magnus will also attend the swearing-in from the Storting Hall.
