Prince William reveals his pride in Africa's wildlife rangers with touching message

Prince William has shared a heartfelt message of support for wildlife rangers across Africa, shortly after returning from a private weekend in Scotland with Princess Kate.

The Prince of Wales resurfaced on social media on Monday to congratulate participants in Tusk’s annual Wildlife Ranger Challenge.

As a Royal Patron of conservation charity Tusk since 2005, praised the teams for their determination and dedication to protecting Africa’s wildlife and supporting local communities.

"A huge well done to every ranger who took part. Proud to support such an extraordinary community and the incredible work you do. W," he wrote from the official Instagram account shared by the Prince and Princess of Wales.

The challenge took place on Saturday 19 September, with ranger teams gathering at events in Kenya, Zambia, South Africa and Uganda, while others completed the course from their own locations across the continent.

Tusk shared a series of photographs from the challenge, capturing rangers tackling the demanding route together, with some carrying heavy packs and others helping teammates through the final stretch.

"Together, they took on the 21km race, with up to 22kg of kit on their backs," the charity wrote. 

"Finish lines crossed side by side, teammates pulling each other up the last stretch, quiet exhaustion and loud celebration in equal measure."
