Bethenny Frankel shares rare update on relationship with ex Jason Hoppy

Bethenny Frankel is offering a candid glimpse into where things currently stand with ex-husband Jason Hoppy, more than a decade after their bitter divorce and custody battle first began.

Speaking recently, the Real Housewives of New York City alum described their current dynamic simply.

"We do coexist on this earth. We do both exist on this earth, so that's positive. It's been a strained year, it's been a challenging year."

Frankel and Hoppy married in 2010 and welcomed daughter Bryn that same year, before separating in December 2012 after less than three years of marriage.

Frankel filed for divorce the following month, kicking off a legal battle over custody and finances that stretched on for nearly a decade, the divorce wasn't officially finalised until January 2021, with a judge ultimately awarding Frankel full custody of Bryn later that year, ruling she no longer owed Hoppy spousal support since their daughter lives primarily with her.

Reflecting on the toll of the extended legal fight, Frankel described elements of their co-parenting arrangement as genuinely difficult, saying, "There were a lot of circumstances that have been, that are… torture, like, traumatic."

Hoppy has largely stayed out of the public eye since the divorce concluded, focusing on his relationship with Bryn and avoiding the kind of media presence that once defined the couple's contentious split, which included a 2017 arrest on stalking and harassment allegations tied to the custody dispute.
