LAHORE: Pakistan People's Party leader, Aitzaz Ahsan Monday gave full credit of restoration of democracy in the country to Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, adding 'in any other case Pervez Musharraf would still have been present in the country'.
Addressing a programme held to mark the Independence Day at Aiwan-e-Iqbal here, Aitzaz reiterated that all the state institutions should function within their constitutional domains.
"No institution is supreme," he said, adding had the two-third majority passed the bill it would have been supreme.
He said he firmly stuck to the view he had expressed during an interview to a foreign TV.
Aitzaz said the real face of Tehreek-e-Insaf is yet to get visible; its leaders should exercise caution. "Chanting a slogan of change after allowing politicians like Shaikh Rashid into its folds is astonishing," he added.
