Pakistan’s growth rate stood at 4.1pc: Economic Survey 2013-14
ISLAMABAD: Minister for Finance, Senator Ishaq Dar is releasing Economic Survey 2013-14 on Monday.

According to the survey, Pakistan’s growth rate stood at 4.1 percent which is less than the targeted figure of 4.4 percent but still being termed encouraging.

The growth in energy sector was recorded at 3.7 percent compared to 16 percent decline in the previous year while 11 percent gain was registered in the discovery of oil and gas.

The production of petroleum products rose by 16 percent while the industrial sector grew by 5.8 percent. The big industrial unit saw a growth of 5.31 percent and the small one 8.35 percent.

Cement sector advanced by 5 percent, Urea production posted a gain of 2.8 percent while Phosphate fertilizer also saw the same level of growth.
