There is probably nothing truer than a dog’s love for his master.
This was recently epitomised by the footage of a dog who refused to leave the coffin of his master killed in the devastating Italy earthquake last week.
The cocker spaniel stayed by his dead master’s side at a mass state funeral held in the town of Ascoli Piceno for victims of the earthquake, which killed nearly 300 people and razed several villages to the ground.
The dog’s owner is believed to have been a resident of the village of Accumoli, near the epicentre of the earthquake.
