After listening to the details of the investigation by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Judicial Magistrate Karachi South ordered the investigative authority to record confessional statements of three witnesses.
A lawyer for the FIA informed the court that startling facts have been unearthed after the decoding of data from computers seized from the IT firm's offices in Karachi and Rawalpindi.
According to details from the decoded data supplied by the FIA, several off-shore companies have been found and several secret accounts discovered which the company used to scam people into buying bogus diplomas.
The printing press which produced the degrees has also been seized while several computer hard disks have also been recovered from the personal residences of some of the suspects.
The FIA lawyer told the court that investigation was being carried out on a daily basis.
In light of the information provided by the FIA, the magistrate ordered that confessional statements be recorded of three witnesses. The court also ordered that Axact CEO Shoaib Shaikh be sent to jail along with eight other suspects.
On a request by the defendant's lawyer, the court ordered authorities to carry out medical examinations of the suspects before transferring them to jail.
