US delegation visits North Waziristan, lauds Pak Army sacrifices for motherland

ISLAMABAD: A delegation of US Senators including Senator Lindsey Graham led by Senator John McCain, Chairman of US Senate Arms Services committee, visited North Waziristan Agency (NWA) on Sunday.

The US Senators visited areas cleared of terrorists during Operation Zarb-e-Azb. The US delegation appreciated the Pakistan Army’s accomplishment of cleansing the entire area of NWA right upto the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, after witnessing the terrorists hideouts and communication infrastructure dismantled by the Pakistan Army.

The US delegation also commended the rehabilitation work being carried out by the Pakistan Army to resettle those displaced back to their area with dignity and honour.

The delegation also met with wounded soldiers and officers who were seriously affected during the initial phases of Operation Zarb-e-Azb and are now back rejoined the battlefield voluntarily.

The US Senators appreciated the determination and grit of all affected Pakistani soldiers and their unparalleled sacrifice for their motherland.

US Senators call on Sartaj Aziz

 

The US delegation also met with Advisor on Foreign Affairs, Sartaj Aziz.

Aziz said, the US Senators expressed their satisfaction upon witnessing the situation in NWA firsthand.

According to sources, during the meeting between Sartaz Aziz and the US delegation the matter of F-16 jet fighters was also discussed.
