KARACHI: Rangers on Tuesday night unearthed a huge cache of arms and ammunition dumped in Karachi's Sakhi Hassan graveyard, sources told Geo News.

Rangers, together with intelligence personnel, reached the graveyard and surrounded it with the help of 15 vehicles, sources said. The paramilitary personnel unearthed a huge cache of arms and ammunition during the siege of graveyard.

The recovery was made on the pointation of under custody suspects, they added.

The law enforcement has also recovered weapons dumped in different areas across megapolis, prior to this.

One such recovery was made on October 5 from a house in Karachi's Azizabad in what was described as the largest ever weapon bust in Karachi's history.

The weapons, which were taken to the office of DIG West in five trucks, included Nato weapons, bullet-proof jackets, anti-tank mines, anti-aircraft guns, bazookas, grenades, LMGs, SMGs, rifles and AK-47 assault rifles along with a large quantity of explosives.

In another raid conducted a few weeks ago, Rangers recovered arms hidden inside a sewer in Karachi's Orangi Town. To avoid detection, the suspects had also parked vehicles above the manhole of the sewer.
