PESHAWAR: The identities have been ascertained of two terrorists killed during the raid at a flour mill in Chamkani area of Peshawar earlier on Saturday.

According to the security sources, the terrorists belonged to Daesh – one of them has been identified as Khaleel, an Afghan refugee, while the other as Fazal Ameen-ul-Maroof.

The facilitator, Qari Nazeer, had rented the flour mill for terrorists, sources said. Nazeer was released from jail around three days back, where he was imprisoned for making suicide jackets. However, the security agencies have sprung into action once again for Nazeer's arrest.

The terrorists' den in the flour mill was discovered during the investigation into the killing of police personnel in Chamkani area of Peshawar on June 15. Unknown motorcyclists had opened fire on a police vehicle in the area, killing three policemen and injuring one.

Police discovered the flour mill early Saturday morning, informed Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Tahir Khan.

During the raid, five security officers were injured, besides two terrorists being killed when an exchange of fire took place between the police and terrorists, Tahir said while talking to the media.

The police also seized a huge cache of arms from the flour mill, including six hand grenades, four pistols, same number of Kalashnikovs, 600 detonators, prima cord, integrated circuits, time device and multiple mobile phones with photos of different locations.

According to the CCPO, the flour mill is a multi-storey building where more explosive-making material could be hidden.
