KARACHI: Pakistan People's Party (PPP) women wing president Faryal Talpur has taken notice of reports about an ailing minor girl from Tharparkar, whose head hangs at a 90-degree angle, and decided to arrange for her treatment.

The girl named Afsheen, a resident of Mithi in Tharparkar district, has a rare muscular disorder due to which she has her head hanging at a 90-degree angle.

The minor cannot walk, stand and eat properly, and is entirely dependent on her poor parents, who could not afford her operation and treatment expenses.

The news of Afsheen's ailment came into notice of Faryal Talpur, which moved the PPP leader on to facilitate the minor's treatment.

On the instruction of Talpur, the girl has now been admitted to a private hospital in Karachi, with all her expenses being borne by the PPP leader, according to a press statement.

PPP women member Naaz Baloch also visited the child at the hospital on Thursday.

Following her diagnosis by a team of doctors, the ailing girl is expected to undergo a surgery after two weeks, the statement added.
