LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Maryam Nawaz said the party was intact and those who were trying to break it will fail.

While talking to journalists during her visit to NA-120 on Saturday, Maryam said it might be someone’s wish to see 72 leaders of PML-N resign from the party, but it was not the case in reality, as she could not see anything like that happening.

She said this while answering a question about resignation from 72 PML-N leaders, the statements regarding which were given by opposition parties.

About cases against her, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and Hassan and Hussain Nawaz, Maryam said she was hopeful a better decision would be reached.

Recently, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairperson Imran Khan said he believed possibilities of the government to dissolve as a large number of PML-N leaders were resigning. He said this was speaking to the media during his visit to Khanpur.

“PML-N doesn't have the numbers. Many members are defecting because they don’t want Nawaz to use the party to save himself or hurl attacks on judiciary and army.”

He said that given the present circumstances in the country, there was no way out besides early elections, adding that only “a fool” would term the step to be against democracy.
