Gunman killed after Wisconsin shooting that left three wounded

MIDDLETON: One fatality and three casualties were reported after an active-shooter situation was cleared up Wednesday night at a Wisconsin-based company.

The only person killed was the gunman, who managed to wound three people seriously before being shot by authorities, Time reported.

According to Chuck Foulke, the chief of Middleton Police, the suspect was gunned down almost eight minutes after they had received calls about a shooter situation at WTS Paradigm. The deceased had was sporting a semi-automatic pistol with extra ammunition, the publication added.

A fourth person, however, was only grazed by one of the shooter's bullets.

There was no claim of the attack nor any motivation ascertained by the authorities, who, however, did mention that the gunman was an employee of the company where the shooting began and had lived nearby. Police did not disclose the suspect's name.

Relating the incident, Judy Lahmers, a WTS Paradigm employee, said was working when she heard what, to her, sounded “like somebody was dropping boards on the ground, really loud”.

One of those who were wounded was in critical condition, the University Hospital in nearby Madison said.
