In a first, a British doctor has purportedly made make up which is resistant to acid attacks and gives protection to potential victims from damage to flesh.

As per an Independent report, Dr Almas Ahmed has created a non-reactive formula which can be added to several make-up products such as foundation, rouge, face powder, eye makeup, lipsticks etc.

The plus part about the formula is that it is not limited to acid attacks only, says Ahmed, adding that it can safe a person from fire-related injuries as well.

Dr Ahmed said she is waiting for the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency to approve the formula.

She said that she had started working on the idea 10 years ago, but then due to a high number of acid attacks made her revisit the idea and bring it to completion.
