Akon, who will be visiting Pakistan in April, took to Twitter on Monday to encourage Pakistanis to donate for the Basha and Mohmand dam funds.

The US rapper, who is well-known for his rap hit “Smack that”, in a short video quoted a United Nations study that states that water resources will run out in the country by 2025.

“This is a special message to Pakistan…I encourage all of Pakistan and all Pakistanis all over the world to support Basha and Mohmand dam,” he said.

He also gave a shoutout to Prime Minister Imran Khan on Sunday and said he is looking forward to performing in the country.

“Yo, Imran Khan, It’s ya boy Akon, I’m looking forward to coming to Pakistan, are you ready for me,” Akon said in a video message on Twitter.
