Pakistan will have the opportunity to once again enter in the top four of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 points table with a win against Australia.
Pakistan is currently at the eighth spot with three points under their belt. A win against the Aussies will take Pakistan’s total to five driving the team to number two position on the points table behind New Zealand.
However, Pakistan’s would remain unchanged if they end up losing to Australia. In that particular scenario, Australia will jump to the second spot, with New Zealand still remaining on top due to net run rate (NRR).
In case of the match being rained out, each team will get one point each. This would mean Pakistan would have four points and depending on the NRR would either be in the fifth or sixth spot. Australia will jump to number two under this scenario.
