A Twitter post about a boy named Usman has set off a healthy debate around the relationships between men and women in Pakistan, and users are sparring over whether men and women can ever be just friends.

The debate started when a user named Komal took to Twitter in the early hours of Friday to tweet about her friend named Usman, who got her sweets in no time at all when she told him she was hungry.

Komal posted a picture of several snacks, including chocolates, biscuits, and even pastries, that she had gotten from Usman, praising the friendship and regard the man had for his friend.

"I texted Usman I wanna eat something at this time and he just brought this to me. Y’all need a friend like Usman," Komal wrote on Twitter, setting off a huge debate around men, women and friendships.

Users started posting hilarious pictures and quotations to the post shared by Komal, and initially targeted Usman in their jokes, calling him a 'friend-zoned' man without a clue.

Although some shared jokes, there were others who were not impressed with the humor, and wanted the discussion to turn to more serious topics, like the social taboos surrounding the interactions between men and women in Pakistan.
