Suleman Sharif sends bouquet to Jahangir Tareen in Oxford

“A lot of progress has been made between the two sides," say sources

LONDON: Former Punjab chief minister Shahbaz Sharif has sent a bouquet to the residence of PTI's former secretary-general Jahangir Tareen in Oxford, United Kingdom, where he is currently staying with his family.

Sources have confirmed that Shahbaz's son Suleman is in touch with Jahangir and his son Ali Tareen.

The bouquet was sent by Suleman on behalf of his father and delivered at the Newbury countryside house of Tareen family.

Jahangir has not yet met Nawaz Sharif but sources say that the developments – related to contacts of Shahbaz being in touch with Jahangir – has the tacit approval of Nawaz.

Sources on both sides have confirmed that the news, adding that Shahbaz Sharif sent his best wishes and regards to Jahangir who arrived in the UK around 10 days ago for medical treatment.

The bouquet was delivered on Monday noon at Tareen’s residence.

The development comes two weeks after Shahbaz and Jahangir met in Lahore at a house in Model Town, according to trusted sources who told this correspondent that “a lot of progress has been made between the two sides”.

The source said that since their meeting in Lahore, there has been regular contact between Tareen and Sharif family members.

Jahangir is in London for another week and then he will return to Pakistan.
