Cristiano Ronaldo, Georgina Rodriguez's baby boy passes away during labour

Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez, who were over the moon to welcome twins – a girl and a boy, have shared the heartbreaking news of the death of the baby boy during labour.

Taking to Instagram, the football star posted a joint statement of the couple to share their ‘greatest pain’ with fans.

“It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that our baby boy has passed away, “ the statement read.

“It is the greatest pain that any parents can feel,” the pair expressed while adding, “Only the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness.”

“We would like to thank the doctors and nurses for all their expert care and support," the heartbroken parents expressed. "We are all devastated at this loss and we kindly ask for privacy at this very difficult time.

“Our baby boy, you are our angel. We will always love you,” they added.
